About Us

Mark and Tom welcome you to Le Portanel. Our home is an easy five-minute walk from the centre of the charming bastide town of Eymet with its petit chateau, river, markets, bars and restaurants.

Eymet is in the south of the Dordogne set in some beautiful countryside on the border of the Lot-et-Garonne making it ideal for exploring the pretty historic towns and villages nearby or heading further afield to Bordeaux and the Atlantic coast.

We came to Eymet in July 2021 and it didn’t take us long to decide to make our home here. We love the town and the surrounding area, particularly in the warmer months when there are festivals, night markets, marchés gourmands and swimming nearby. Out of season, the town and the area change pace completely and we have also enjoyed living here in the quieter and colder months.
